Building Momentum: Inside Evergreen’s Songwriting Camps
When I started Evergreen Music Company, the vision was never just about offering services — it was about creating real opportunities for artists, writers, and producers to collide, experiment, and build something meaningful together. The songwriting camps we’ve been developing are a direct extension of that philosophy.
Over the past year, Evergreen has expanded beyond traditional label services into intensive, high-energy songwriting camps designed to generate high-quality, sync-ready, and commercially viable music. These camps are built around collaboration, instinct, and momentum, bringing together emerging and established creatives from Montreal and Toronto in a focused, pressure-positive environment.
High-Intensity Creation, With Purpose
Evergreen camps are intentionally fast-paced. The goal is volume and quality — pushing creative output while keeping a clear commercial lens. In some cases, that means producing 30+ demos in just three days. We work out of top-tier studios like Studio Victor in the iconic RCA building in Montreal, creating an atmosphere that feels elevated, professional, and inspiring from the moment artists walk in.
But intensity doesn’t mean chaos. The structure is there to support creativity, not restrict it. Writers and producers are encouraged to trust their instincts, move quickly, and avoid overthinking — a mindset that’s especially valuable when creating music for sync and publishing.
Curated Collaboration
One of the most important elements of these camps is the roster. We bring together a stacked and diverse group of songwriters, producers, and vocalists — often pairing people who have never met or worked together before. Those first-time collaborations are where some of the most exciting ideas emerge.
The goal isn’t comfort — it’s chemistry. By intentionally mixing backgrounds, genres, and approaches, the camps consistently unlock new creative directions and unexpected results.
Structure Meets Spontaneity
Every session is designed to strike a balance between freedom and focus. While spontaneity is encouraged, there’s always an underlying emphasis on commercial viability and real-world application. These aren’t abstract writing exercises — they’re real-time collaborations built with sync licensing, publishing, and artist development in mind.
That structure helps creatives sharpen their instincts: knowing when to push a concept further, when to simplify, and when a song is truly working.
A Growth-First Environment
Above all, Evergreen’s camps are meant to feel safe. Safe to experiment, safe to fail, and safe to try something new without judgment. Perfection isn’t the goal; progress is.
Trust is built quickly in these rooms, and that trust allows artists to take risks they might not take elsewhere. The result is not just better songs, but stronger collaborators.
More Than Just Music
Beyond the writing itself, these camps act as a genuine networking hub. They connect independent artists to a broader creative and industry ecosystem - opening doors to future collaborations, publishing opportunities, and long-term relationships.
After a successful inaugural camp in Toronto in November 2025, we carried that momentum into a second, expanded five-day camp in January 2026. That growth reflects Evergreen’s broader mission: to build an ever-expanding creative network that moves fast, thinks strategically, and supports artists at every stage of their journey.
This is only the beginning. The camps are evolving, the network is growing, and the work coming out of these rooms continues to raise the bar. Evergreen was built to move with intention, and these songwriting camps are one of the clearest expressions of that vision yet.
